SERIES TWO - ROUND 4 at Mount Torrens has been cancelled due to a lack of nominations.
WE APOLOGISE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE!
Unfortunately, due to a lack of nominations, it will not be possible to proceed with the planned round 4, which was due to take place on the 25th of November. Cancelling any event is regrettable – but we will learn from the mistakes we made and look to come back with an improved offering early in 2019!
The final Cyclo Sportif of 2018 is only days away, but it is not too late to get involved in Cycling SA’s ride series. Entries are still open for the series finale (until Wednesday 21 November), which encourages riders to enjoy challenging but achievable team rides in picturesque locations across South Australia, whilst improving fitness.
A new location for the year, Mount Torrens, will provide gentle hills with a few sharp pinches to challenge the riders.
The option of two, three or four laps really allows for everyone to have a go – no matter what your starting ability or cycling prowess. More experienced riders can challenge themselves with the longer course (four laps totaling 38.4km), as they take in the beautiful countryside of the Adelaide Hills.
Cycling SA CEO, Lachie Ambrose, notes “this is the last Sportif of the year, and a great final opportunity to get together in a team and get on your bike before the busy Christmas period takes hold! We are thrilled to have the ride in the picturesque suburb of Mount Torrens, flanked by charming vineyards.”
Prizes will again be awarded to the fastest men’s, women’s and mixed teams, with thanks to PEDALIT, Science in Sport and KOM.

With a dramatic change in weather over the last 24 hours, we are all set and excited for a cool Saturday morning ride tomorrow, for Round 3 of the Cyclo Sportif. Starting at 9am at The Range, the ride will proceed Norwood Cycling Club’s history-making 100th Port Noarlunga Classic.
After positive feedback from Round 2 of the Sportif at the picturesque Snapper Point, Cycling SA is looking forward to the ten plus teams ride The Range – a course that is always one of the series favourites. Rolling hills, a fast (but straight!) downhill and a testing climb back to the line make the Range one of the harder rounds. The round also features sweeping views from the ridgetop – so if you want to take your time – there is plenty to keep the mind occupied!
Although not a race as such, there is still plenty of competition displayed. The teams get to choose from 2, 3 or 4 laps of the 17km course, with prizes awarded to the fastest men’s, women’s and mixed teams.
Prizes are provided with thanks from PEDALIT, Science in Sport and KOM Coffee, with much of the field taking home something for their efforts.
